Want a warm place to go in January? Galveston could be just the ticket for a quick weekend getaway. With Galveston Restaurant Week Jan.15th-21st; 25 different restaurants are participating in a week long food festival not to be missed. Plus, you can register to win a free cruise for two being given away. The weekend before the food festival, Jan. 13th-15th will be the Galveston Historical Society's 149th re-enactment of Galveston Island's most famous Civil War battle. The weekend after the food festival will be the annual Yaga Chili Quest and Beer Fest, Jan. 20th-22nd will cap off 10 days of fun, food and libations.

Guess what else Galveston has, or will have this year. Two new cruise lines will be calling Galveston home. The Disney Magic and the Princess Crown will be sailing from Galveston starting in 2012! More to come on this.
